Tip 1: NaNoWriMo

Whether dipping your toe into this whole “writing thing” or diving headlong into the mosh pit, NaNoWriMo is a great way to develop a daily writing habit. Click on the link above to learn more about this annual dash to 50K words in one month.

Nope, that was NOT a typo!

You are pledging to write 50,000 words in just 30-days. 1,667 will become imprinted in your mind.

Of course, you can always set a different goal, but why would you? Part of the adventure (and fun) of NaNoWriMo is is our slavish, more than slightly obsessive drive to 50,000 words.

The good folks over at NaNoWriMo have built up a community to help you along the way with more forums than you can possibly visit in 5 years of NaNoWriMo.

Make sure you add me as your “buddy.” Search for alexismroark under “authors.”

You’ll find me on Twitter, most weekends of NaNoWriMo and Camp NaNoWriMo (more on THAT later), over at NaNoWordSprints. I’ll challenge you, cheer you on, and help you reach whatever goal you set!
